About the Division of Athletics

The University of Denver has a proud
athletic tradition that compliments the school’s academic endeavors. In its history, DU has won 33 national championships and enables
student-athletes to compete on 18 Division 1 teams. The Pioneers pursue championships, excel academically, and represent both the University
and their respective conferences to the best of their abilities.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of
Athletics for Administration will serve on the University of Denver’s Athletics and Senior Staff and is responsible for the executive
operations and execution of the department’s strategic, special projects and operational plans and the day-to-day administration of
the Division’s Administrative operations. This individual will provide administrative coordination and support for the Vice Chancellor
for Athletics and RC Operations. The candidate will oversee and schedule meetings and serve as the liaison with senior University leadership
and the Athletic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees. The position will report to the Vice Chancellor for Athletics.

Essential Functions

 Core Responsibilities

  • Administrative coordination and
    support for the Vice-Chancellor

    • Schedule management
    • Communication oversight
    • Donor engagement in conjunction with
      Advancement staff
    • Coordinate tracking and follow-through of Vice Chancellor initiatives & special projects for the
      Division
    • Coordinate accountability for Vice-Chancellor initiatives with the leadership team
    • Facilitate and administer the
      Departmental Strategic Planning process and various task forces
    • Provide counsel and feedback to Vice-Chancellor
  • Division meeting coordination
    • Schedule divisional, leadership team, coaches, sport administrator and other meetings
    • Work with Vice-Chancellor to plan agendas
    • When needed, document meeting discussions and accountability next steps

  • Athletic Affairs Committee
    • Work with Office of the Chancellor to schedule quarterly meetings
    • Work with
      Vice-Chancellor on meeting content, material preparation and communications
  • Divisional Administrative Support

    • Assist with Onboarding /Off boarding of employees 
    • Maintaining and service varies third party administrative
      contracts

  • Vice Chancellor initiatives – adjusted and reviewed
    annually

    • Key performance indicator (KPI) tracking and benchmarking

Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as business periodicals professional journals or government
    regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and develop related power point presentations.
  • Ability to
    effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Strong
    negotiation, conflict resolution and problem solving ability is necessary.
  • The ability to exercise good decision-making under
    pressure is necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Excellent communication and public relation
    skills. Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills strong
    organizational skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination
    of education and work experience.
  • 2-5 years of related work experience.

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Experience in a NCAA Division I/II athletic program
  • Positive energy and passion for
    NCAA Division I athletics and the University of Denver

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the
    capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs. with assistance.

Work Schedule
8:00-4:30pm some
weekends and evenings as identified by the Vice Chancellor of Athletics

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade
for the position is 9.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $55,000-$70,000.

The
University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the
position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to
the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget
availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other
