The IT Department at Thiel College seeks candidates for a full-time Information Technology Data Specialist.

This position is an
on-campus (Greenville, PA), remote, or hybrid.

The role of the Specialist is to assist in managing, supporting and providing ongoing
optimization systems (technical and functional) at the College that interface to PowerCampus.

The I/T Data Specialist will often
communicate directly with the end user regarding data reporting needs and troubleshooting and correcting existing data source connections,
reports, and their associated front-end applications.

This is a highly technical position, and the ideal candidate will be primarily
responsible for troubleshooting, developing, and maintaining all Thiel College stakeholders’ data reporting vehicles and needs. This
position will also support users using Thiel College applications, including but not limited to the Student Information System (PowerCampus)
and other Power Campus-connected systems and Office365.

IT Data Specialist Requirements/Responsibilities:

Education and Experience: Associate degree with appropriate certifications, training and experience,
bachelor’s degree (preferred), in computer science, business information systems, information technology, or a related field
preferred. At least 2 years of experience in an IT-related position, IT support experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Proficiency with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server and MS
    Access) and data processes.
  • Proficiency with writing reports based on data sources from MS SQL Servers, Access Databases, and other
    imported files such as MS Excel and Text files.
  • PowerCampus Experience (highly preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365
    applications

Skilled in:

  • Supporting departmental staff and administration with the
    identification, evaluation, selection, support and maintenance of systems solutions.
  • Designing, reporting, and
    documenting implementations and solutions.
  • Expertise and experience with reporting tools such as SSRS
  • An up-to-date
    insight into the latest developments in the information technology sphere.

Ability to:

  • Work
    independently, as part of a team, and directly with stakeholders to meet needs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Superb
    interpersonal and presentation skills.
